The NEUROSCIENCE OF AUDITORY INTERACTION LAB (NAIL) is a unique facility where hearing and communication are studied in various environments that mimic the complexities of the real world. This research group exists to promote an interdisciplinary environment at the forefront of research on hearing, musical and linguistic communication, and their applications to benefit the health of Canadians.

The NAIL brings together an internationally-renowned research team with an established a strong track record of significant research collaboration. The researchers that form the core of NAIL are arguably the best in the world for the neuroscientifc study of musical development and includes developmental neuroscientists, kinesiologists, mathematical modelers, acousticians and health scientists specializing in autism. Members of our group are also international leaders in the study of hearing loss and tinnitus, from its neural basis in the brain to clinical tools for its assessment.

In addition to the high scientific-impact and wide media coverage of research activities, NAIL is also known for excellent training programmes for high-quality personnel including post-doctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students.
